Devon seminars – Protect your clients – Secure their assets

Complimentary Tax and Estate Planning Seminars– 17th October 2017.

We are pleased to invite you to our Tax and Estate planning seminar, in association with Fortress Law Limited, focusing particularly on those with property and/or business interests.

We will be running two sessions  at The Fortress Law office in Paignton, Devon. More Details are below.

Approximately £1 trillion will be passed through inheritances in the next ten years creating an inheritance ‘economy’ for advisers. Research suggests that within ten years £115 billion per annum will pass between one generation and the next.

In some circumstances, family trusts can now play a less relevant part in financial planning, due to some less favourable tax changes introduced in  the last ten years.

To counter this, the applications of a Family Investment Company have increased in popularity.

Therefore, the presentation will focus on comparing Family Investment Companies and trusts as an estate planning and investment vehicle.

The seminar will cover recent topical issues including:-

  • Applications of Family Investment Companies as a tax efficient structure.
  • The introduction of the Main Residence Nil Rate Band.
  • Succession Planning – how you can help your clients.
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney – why your clients should have one.
  • Care Fees – protecting against a 100% charge on your clients’ capital.
  • Lifetime Trusts – are they still relevant?
